New England Patriots Player Retains Limb Sensation Despite Injury

An NFL preseason match between the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers came to an early end on Saturday when Patriots cornerback Isaiah Bolden suffered an injury and had to be taken off the field during the fourth quarter.

Bolden remained motionless after a collision with his teammate Calvin Munson while attempting to tackle Packers player Malik Heath in the early stages of the fourth quarter at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Patriots later provided an update on social media, stating, "Despite retaining sensation in all his limbs, Isaiah has been transported to a local hospital for further tests and observation."

Both teams' players congregated on the field as the rookie cornerback received medical attention and was eventually carried off. Bolden, who was drafted in the seventh round of this year's NFL Draft, will be kept at the hospital overnight as per the team's announcement.

The Patriots also utilized social media to inform the public that an agreement had been reached with the Packers to halt the remainder of the game. Subsequently, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, special teams captain Matthew Slater, and quarterback Mac Jones engaged with the media regarding Bolden's injury and the game's interruption.

"Our thoughts are with Isaiah," Belichick stated to reporters. "I think the league handled the situation appropriately. It was the right thing to do."

Slater supported the decision to halt the game after the injury occurred.

"It's evident that our team was affected by what transpired," Slater commented, commending Belichick for his choice and acknowledging Packers head coach Matt LaFleur for standing in solidarity.

"In this scenario, I believe everyone acted promptly, and the decision was justified," Slater affirmed.

Jones echoed a similar sentiment and commended the choice to suspend the game.

"I believe Coach Belichick handled the situation well by discussing it with Slater and the team's leadership," Jones told reporters. "Clearly, he managed the situation. He and Slater did a commendable job in the locker room, addressing the team as they always do. Their efforts unite us during challenging moments. We genuinely value their leadership and that of others on the team who can bring us together during difficult times."
